Moderator for 300 win mag

Hi all, I've a custom 300 win mag, and it's got a Proof Research Sendero heavy profile carbon barrel.

My old Moderator won't fit down over the barrel (m18x1 thread)

Does anyone have recommendations for an over barrel moderator for this type of set up?

Not over the barrel but an ASE SL7i works really well with the 300 and 338 magnums and doesn’t add a lot in the way of length

Thanks Selous, I'll check them out. I'm hoping to get an over barrel one to keep the length and balance good.

Not on a 300WM.

I'm surprised Sendero profile is giving you an over barrel issue as most reflect mods will have 26mm clearance. I'd recommend the new Wildcat Elite for a magnum - really impressed on my PRC

Well I know I like Wildcat and have a few but Not anymore for any HME seeing the state after a year and low count on the pred 12! as above may work but wow the cost is up there at £600 plus. I have one pred 12 left and should or once that has gone the same way ? then maybe just without is the way to go for range work as we all have ear protection on anyway and as electronic aids get better and smaller then maybe also stalking with an bud type would be the way to go.

I have one on my sporting rifle.
Noticeably less mussel climb too.

Do you know of any moderator that doesn't have baffles foward of the muzzle ?

I'd reccommend a DPT in 7mm with an additional standar and a stainless steel baffle (in 30cal)

Large internal capacity (less muzzle flip)
Low cost (in comparison/over the lifetime)
Easy to clean
Lots of spare parts available (it's only the baffles that wear out, not the chambers).

I have run a Jet Z on my various.300 WM and have put collectively many hundreds of rounds through it including some very warm loads…

Never had a problem at all and although I haven’t checked if it still states it in the blurb in the box and on Jackson’s website it states that Jet Z can be used for calibres up to and including.300 WM.

Works very well
May not be “Magnum Rated” but its a solid lump of steel and i have put several hundred rounds through it on the Norma Mag

Have also run SL7i and PES/MAE T12
But suspect your barrel is too fat for most overbarrel mods

There are two SL7's. One is magnum rated - the other.....isn't.

can anyone confirm if the Hausken JD224 can accommodate a sendero heavy profile carbon barrel?
