Moderator size?

Does anyone have any experiences using an oversized mod vs suited to caliber mods?

Wondering if in the real world it makes a difference?or if anyone has noted a difference?
in accuracy , velocity , recoil and does it effect the noise reduction at all?

My first cf rifle,a Remi VS700 22/250,with a T8 .30 cal mod.
Took it down from baaangblast to loud fffsssht..
It lasted 15 years.
Was fine.

Ed from Edinburgh Rifles did an excellent test some years ago (I'm sure someone will be along to post the results soon) and this did include a number of oversized ones

Always fancied a 17 hornet, what would be best size. I had a 22hornet before. Seemed quite hard to silence with bigger moderator on it.

Hi thanks for the responses so far .

The information might be in there and I’m to stupid to see it but what info im looking for is …

If I had 2 mods the same but in Different cals . Say 6.5 and .30

And shot them both over a 6.5 rifle , would one have more impact over the other as for recoil reduction?

I know the less free space reduces noise but unsure on recoil

I use a 30 cal mod on a 30 cal rifle. I also use same mod on a 6.5 x 55 rifle. I’m told it would be quieter with a calibre specific mod fitted, but it’s quiet enough for me and I’m quids in.
