Graham,

The dry weather, and fires killed the beginning of the season, it was dreadful all over Portugal. It started to look up in the new year, and my annual trip for the last 10-12 days of Feb', was really good, but we do have the luxury of moving from one area to another.

I know you're doing private hunts, whilst I'm doing hunting club/association Monteria's, but the bags were definitely on the way back up, many into the 30-40's (one big hunt per day) with the normal few exceptions.

Just ask your guys to confirm there's plenty of water in your hunting area. No water, no food, no boar !

Good luck, I hope you have a great hunt.

Hi Mark
Yeah same all over Portugal even the pigeon and partridge shooting was a waste of time
I asked the same questions about food water etc and the boar have returned to the same areas in greater numbers possibly due to virtually nothing being shot all year
All the feed is going and there is a lot of activity around the water holes so its looking positve the only question is whats the weather going to be like this year another very hot dry year will ruin it
Regards
Graham

Sorry for late reply just got back from stalking in Scotland
Am afraid all the places have gone this year pending deposits being paid but if anything crops up I will give everyone a shout
