Mornings ferreting

Hi Guys
Just got a little job come in to clear some rabbits off a lawned area, it's only 2 earths but very clear and easy to ferret, if anyone near me would like to ferret it in the next couple of weeks before I clear the ground with 22 rimmy send me a pm it would be a good area for young ferrets or pugs it's only a short morning ferreting but it will give the ferrets a run out

Fair play for offering nowt better than a Sunday morning ferreting.
I’d take you up on it unfortunately I’m in the midlands.
Rabbits are very few and far between in my are.

i’ve no ferrets now for a couple of years, ordinarily I would be doing it myself, thought I’d ask if someone wanted to give their ferrets a run out as a start out to the season, makes no difference to the result, but I enjoy ferreting had ferrets since I was a wee boy, always good to share if you can, you’re right though things have changed, if someone asked me to go ferreting i’d be falling over myself to get there

Quite. Seems not to be the case any more, was always my gateway drug into other forms of field sports, such great fun

nice haul Tim, now to the gralloching - another hrs graft . all part and parcel was that lot destined to the butcher.
I used to do well supplying my local butchers with ferreted rabbits in the run up to xmas

Having witnessed the almost total demise of the rabbit when Mixy first arrived and then seeing the recent decline in their numbers due this time to Mixy, VHD, and increased predation, plus changes in farming, ferreting for me has finally come to an end.
It has provided me with countless hours of excitement, frustration, physical discomfort, and memories I shall never forget. Truly a countryman's sport.

Yep. I started 60 years ago and still hanker to go ferreting it’s where I started, I guess once bitten and all that, I still get it when I hear the thumping under the ground in anticipation of a purse net bursting out full of a bolting rabbit haha you can take the boy out of the country as they say

Was my passion first with nets and later .410 where possible then girls got in the way for a while but not for long.

Pity I wasn't closer to you I would of sorted it no problem. I'm always looking for ferreting permission North Yorks, County Durham and Northumberland areas. If anyone needs a hand give me a shout.
