I do a lot of vermin control around Northumberland and I haven't seen any yet

I havent seen any in Northumberland but have at Sedgefield and Wynyard

The ones in sedgefield were let out.
About 20 of them some years ago.
I know a few people that have shot them in the sedgefield/ Hartlepool area.
One got knocked over near Slayley forest but that’s the only sighting I’ve heard off any further north.

The Sedgefield ones were deliberately released along with ones at Wynyard. Never heard of any near Slaley Forest though.

A friend of mine sent me a picture of a dead one just near Slayley on the side off the road about 5 years ago.
I was in a syndicate in Slayley for years and never saw anything but roe.

My dad was the master of the south Durham hunt and use to see them over sedgefield regularly while out with the hounds.

The slaley one could have been dumped as a prank.

Tbh it’s not the type of ground they like up there so wouldn’t be hanging about anyway.

Those forests arent suitable for them , roe only.
