Muntjac in Devon

Well after my previous comments of Muntjac sightings on a previous post I was sent a photo of a muntjac dead on the road at daisy mount junction / roundabout near Otter St Mary BUT on Monday I nearly ran one over between Broadclyst and Whimple, positive ID as it ran 20 yards down the road! I know it’s no big deal to most stalkers outside of Devon and Cornwall but that’s confirmation that they are coming!

I saw the Dead Munty at Daisy Mount and another one dead in the central res about 1 mile further down the A30 towards Exeter.

Definitely showing up regularly.

A friend (that I trust) saw a pair near Broadhembury this week and I have heard one barking and seen the slots in a wood near there a couple of months ago.

Can’t wait - I’ve shot lots up country, so you definitely hunt them not stalk them - a fascinating quarry if you watch them for long enough and great eating. They just need to swim across the Tavy and the Tamar….

Yes got a friend who confirmed sighting near there last year, first one I’ve seen though.

Yep good shout, fallow also up there and I’ve seen photos of reds Ashclyst forest side of killerton house but like you say Ashclyst forest is busy with dog walkers and ramblers

There was an MJ buck, dead at the side of the A30, between Honiton and Ottery St Mary, a couple of weeks back.
