Muslim beginner looking to getting into hunting!

Hi Everyone,

I’m from Bristol and have been interested in nature for a really long time, fishing etc. Over the last year I have been interested in hunting and going about learning, however I am a complete beginner so I have no clue.

Being Muslim I would like to talk to other Muslim hunters or people who are friends with Muslim hunters so that I could get a better understanding on the religious aspects of hunting etc.

I have had a bad year with depression and just not been myself. So I’ve finally decided to try and follow my passions rather then just to say oh maybe some other time etc. I’m looking to discover my passion and hopefully you guys can help.

If anyone wants to help me to find the right way to getting into hunting I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Welcome, @Evergreen87. I look forward to getting to know you.

I sometimes take my sheep to be slaughtered at a halal abatoir, and the owner is both a muslim and a hunter. He is a very wise old man, originally from Uttar Pradesh, and I enjoy talking with him very much.

He takes what he calls 'a pragmatic view' when shooting an animal, and doesn't make things too complicated. He just whispers Bismillah Allahu Akbar quietly to himself before squeezing the trigger.

Good luck in your quest.

Kind regards,

Carl

Best of luck bud, depression wont help with firearm ownership for sure but there are plenty of places you can enjoy an acompanied stalk & take part in the sport.

Edit.... As Carl said above 👆

Mumtaz. Welcome to the site. I will be keen to find out from you how you make sure your kills are Halal.
You made a point of saying you are Muslim in your intro.
Having visited several abbatoirs in Muslim countries I find Halal slaughter is mostly honoured in the breech not the observance. Beasts being killed in front of the others ( a big no no- haram as I am sure you know) is the norm in the middle east.
I look forward to your posts, but feel it odd you should think it necessary to put your religion as the first line of your post.

What's that all about?
