I had an old garden shed that had been wrecked by a tree growing up next to it for the last 50 years. I couldn't afford a new shed so had to make do with what I have. I chopped down the tree and did my best to fix it structurally, patch the roof and get the doors operational again. I made a wooden floor with 22mm sarking boards. I also lined the roof with glass wool and 6mm ply.
I had to electrify the shed (10mm2 SWA to 40A consumer unit) and added hot and cold water pipes at the same time, running it all in a trench about 25m from the house and combi boiler. I also dug in 6m of 110mm drain pipe for my drainage.
See a few pics below of the end result. It's such a pleasure having everything in the same place for processing my venison now. The biggest boon is having hot water and pot & hand washing sinks so that I can keep everything clean!
Here's a list of what I've used.
2x 4ft LED lights from Screwfix
3mm rubber coin flooring
Industrial fridge with deer hanging rails I made
Normal fridge for any venison that's been butchered.
Chest freezer
Upright freezer
Deer hanging rail using 4" fence post
Hand winch for lifting red deer
1800 x 600mm Stainless work table
1200x600 Stainless pot washing sink
Mixer tap with sprayer £25? off eBay
Knee operated hand wash sink
1000mm Stainless folding shelf
2x 40w Dimplex thermostat heaters under sinks for frost protection
I got all the stainless kit from Adexa. Prices seemed pretty good, delivery was about £60 which felt expensive. I made spacers to lift the table and the pot wash sink to about 950mm as they were too low for me. I also screwed them back to the wall as they weren't stable enough freestanding. They're nice and sturdy now. Adexa wasn't interested in helping me source a new tap for handwash sink when it got destroyed by the water freezing in the cold weather in January. I found that a bit disappointing, but managed to source another tap online fortunately. I had to also replace the mixer tap which succumbed to freezing. I've since installed heaters to prevent freezing.
Oh, and the knife scabbard and thin bladed boning knife along with excellent knife sharpening tuition, from my butcher friend is amazing

Next job is to get the workshop next door finished so that I can start some gunsmithing.
I'm a late bloomer it seems but I'm just starting to get into the swing of things. 2026 is going to be a great year!
