My Yukon fall season

Not quite as spectacular as I had planned. Ended up taking a short term job instead of flat out retiring so it crimped my plans a bit. My wife did manage to fill her elk tag so at least there is meat in the freezer! There are only 14 elk tags drawn in the YT and she ended up with a 5 point or less tag (There are 4 any bull tags).

The season opened Sept 1st and I was bugling from my hot tub that evening. No reply, but the next morning Hel got me out of bed with "there's elk across the river!" A quick look with the bino's revealed that he was too big for her permit.

I bugled at him for amusements sake and he came down the bank and crossed teh river to a small island in from of our place. He ended up being 98 yards from the edge of the lawn .
