Good evening everyone just wondering what one would be best for 130g and 140g bullets thanks for looking 👍

N160 is the classic for 130gr. I use it for my 130gr lead-free loads.
My lead load (while still permitted...?) however is a 140gr with N165.

Thanks Dalua i wonder would N165 be more versatile 🤔
Not sure what that means in this context, but chose it for the 140gr bullets because in general I like heavier bullets with slower powders, but also I have plenty of barrel (23.5") - so I like to imagine I'm getting the most out of it.

I would have no qualms about going for N160 for 130gr bullets - it seems to be the classic choice, and probably with good reason.
:)
Hopefully some N165 130gr reloaders will share their experiences...

I am using N560 now with 140gr SST's. Sako brass/CCI primers and loaded out close to the lands. For years I used N165 and 140gr Nosler BT's but after not being able to get hold of Noslers for a while turned to SST's and thought what the heck lets go silly and try a different powder thus the N560. For whatever reason I have a slight improvement in accuracy but the N165 did the job perfectly well for years.

As far as I can see the only slight disadvantage of the N560 is that it doesnt flow quite so well in my Lee Powder dispenser but with the N560 I can get enough in for the next accuracy node in my rifle which I could never do with the N165. Never tried N160 but imagine they all get the job done.

N165 would be my go to powder if I was starting from scratch to work a new load up.

Thanks Awest 👍

6.5 x 55 is a lovely round. I use a 6.5 X 47 lapua a Schultz & Larsen with a gorgeous stock for the summer but my stainless steel Tikka .270 synthetic stock comes out in the winter or for when I need just a bit more oomph.
