Hi all,

I have the load data from the Viht app for N340 but wondered if anyone has experience with using N340 with 180gr TC bullets in the .357.

Having to change from Titegroup to the Viht powder due to supply so wondering if anyone has experience of the above recipe

Thanks

I use it with 158 grain lead Silhouette TC and Geco FMJs. Never tried it with bigger (nor smaller) bullets. Excellent powders. I use Viht with all my reloading. Most consistent supply too.

Isn't Titegroup quite a bit faster? Closer to N310 from VV lineup? Of the other way around, N340 being closer to Longshot?

Personally cannot help, not used much 180gr (although I have them) and use almost exclusively 3N37 and N110 in 357 (more of a habit than anything else).

I was just pointing out, that if he's used Titegroup with 180gr until now, he's probly making some low power gallery loads or equivalent. And N340 might not be right one for these.

In general sense N340 is not slow for 357. Especially 180gr. In VV data there's only one 180gr and it's electrically plated soft lead. So fastest powders are usually not used, especially in chambering that is associated with "power". If you look at 38 Spl data, there are loads for equivalent(ish) bullet that start at 125m/s.
