Never hear about freezing ticks for removal?

Appears that AI is prone to take some mirages. Burning or discarding ticks that had yet bites you is a stupid behavior. The best favour you can do to yourself is to save it in a small box or a nylon bag until you are shure you haven't developed any symptoms of illness or better, take it to before that happens, to a medical laboratory for checking for lymes or rickettsia or whatever it may has in the stomach. This can dave you some painfully times.

tried AI to see if it could assist in providing direction but 90% of the time it is incompetent

The issue is that AI is fallible, but because it delivers its perspective authoritatively it is trusted.

"AI hallucination" is real phenomenon widely acknowledged, notably by Google's Gemini builders, but its failings are hard to quantify on a case-by-case basis.

The net is that you cannot know if the AI output is true/sane.

That is👍 AI doesen't knows of not knowing (as per Socrates) and can lead You to some main mistakes. But check, check again and re-check is the best mantra.

They can climb and find a nice place to stay in your face. Believe me. I had one years ago in my beard between jaws and ear, my personal doctor and hunting pall as well. And he had to be ospedalized. May be Italian ticks are more creatives.

Move north I never had a tick yet.
Uhmmm? 🫤As far as I know nord & middle Europe are heavy plagued. And Lyme disease is also wide spreaded. Been in Scotland for the ruth in october and the all the stags were covered....niphas and and other nasty black critters climbing from cold body up to the trophy looking for another guest-victim. 😊

They are coming up in low numbers too the bothnic bay area but have not reached the inner parts of northern Sweden. Southern and middle Sweden has a lot of ticks.

Interesting thread, am I the only one who has found a tick on their testicles? (I’ll spare you the photo 😂)
I don’t think shoving my b*llocks in the freezer would have been an option. I removed it with tweezers.
I was sick for 24 hours shortly afterwards, vomiting and fever, but I can’t say that the two were related.
It could have been food poisoning and it could have been Norovirus.
