Personally i can’t as I only run my woodburner. The thing is they have been making these for a long time and if it was a design issue then there would be more complaints.So can someone explain to me how lighting my stove from the top will stop it from blowing smoke out the door hours after it’s been lit and fully warm,I’ve simply swapped old working great stove for new defra approved crap,the top plate inside defra fires restrict the flow of smoke allowing some to come out the open door and the way you lite the fire will not alter that

so it seems to be a general that it is either blocked, you say the chimney is clear
Bad fitment
or a Friday Stove.
The only other thing I can add is I used to have a thing on my roof which kept the birds out but it used to get clogged up And have me the same issue. Took it off and problem solved.

The throat plate was the problem,only about 15-20mm gap at the top of the door for smoke to go up the chimney ,my old fire had about 50mm,the heat has now melted the thoat plate back about another 20mmDo tell sir.....![]()
Never said mine was hard to light,it’s totally opposite,easy to light and burns great,my post was not aimed at you .I’m guessing this was directed at me, I was only trying to help you out.
You did say your stove was hard to light and let smoke into the room.
Not after it’s been burning for hours though.

ive had stoves for probably 20 years,I cut trees for a living,half of the answers on here are basically what google- YouTube says , I’ll crack on doing what I do with my badly fitted stove that I’m lighting wrong![]()
