With a 4.3 base mag on the thermal chanel? I am sure there is some logic in there someplace for doing it. Would drive me mad though.

A LOT of people get confused with magnification . It's all about lens focal length, sensor pixel pitch and sensor resolution .

The Falcon FQ50 , Condor CQ50 and Habrok HQ50 all have 640 resolution sensors, 12 micron pixel pitch and 50mm focal length lenses.... So they all have identical detection range and identical field of view , unless you reduce the eye display slightly cropping the image....

The Falcon has a 2.6x magnification , the Habrok HQ50L has 4.3x magnification . Field of view very close on both models. The eye displays on the Habrok just shows a more magnified image. A slight cropping on the sub round display shaves off a tiny bit of vertical FOV on the Habrok, but not huge amount. It's basically like mentioned all down to sensor and lens...

So what’s the FOV in meters at 100m for both? Genuine sales enquiry question BTW as these were the model I was hoping for but the mag is putting me off.

FOV HQ50L : 8.8° × 5.3°/ 15.4 m × 9.3 m
FOV HX60L : 14.6°×8.8°/25.6 m×15.4 m

As a comparision check out the FOV on a Falcon FQ50
8.8° × 7.0°/15.4m × 12.2m

The first angle being the horizontal . So basically identical horizontal field of view.

People go wild about magnification, but a lot just don't understand the products....

Thank you for taking the time that was very useful.

Anyone get a hands on look at the HX60L to see if the 25Hz frame rate was laggy compared to 50Hz..? Would really like to know before I click ADD TO BASKET..
