I am old and advanced in geezerhood. I mostly hunt deer here in Northern Alberta. I'm a member at the local range and I am hopelessly addicted to firearms.

I own rifles in the following calibres: .22lr, .22 WMR, .17 HMR, .222, .223, 6.5x55, .270, 7x57, 7x57R, .308, .30-06, 7.65x53, 8x57, 8x57JRS, 9.3x62, .375 H&H and .43 Mauser.

I will be hunting wild boar in Hungary in 2027 and for that I will use a FAIR Safari Express double rifle in 8x57JRS

Hello and welcome to the group. Two of my favorite calibers are 7x57 and 30-06. You cannot go wrong with either one of them!

Used to be a great fan of Wayne Gretzky - those were the days. Welcome to the site and good luck in Hungary. Double rifles are just the thing for that sort of hunting. Is your 43Mauser a double gun as well?
