Good morning all,
Thanks for taking me on. I've been reading the site on and off for some months while trying to decide on a way forward. I'm sure that you're all familiar with the issues getting started without permissions/FAC and the catch 22 that it causes.
Anyway, I've booked on to a guided stalk next week and will hopefully get a nice roe doe or a muntjac perhaps. I'm intending to skin and butcher myself, and all going well I have plans for a Sunday roast the following Sunday
(I do rather like a roast).
I've held an sgc for some years now, with an even mix of driven and walked up days when I can, and lots of clays in the closed season. Of course, the cost is a little prohibitive, as I rather enjoy the driven days.
My plan for now is this one guided day this month, then probably only the feathered friends while in season. I am looking at the DSC1 for next year, but it all depends a bit on whether I think that I'll actually find permissions and obtain an FAC. I can't comprehend quite the difficulty obtaining permissions in some areas while others I hear of can't keep up with the cull!
Lastly, I wanted to thank all involved here and moderators etc for providing such a useful repository of information - it is fascinating.
