Hello all - this is the second time I’ve logged in and I’ve just read the notes re an introduction. However I registered for this site some time ago.

I’m based in Edinburgh and Argyll. I’m mid-40s and have been shooting since I was teenager, and got my first rabbit at 12, first pheasant at 14 and stag at 15. Until the age of 12 I was very very anti-blood sports!!! I now shoot regularly - mainly driven game. I have access to stalking at my in-laws place in Argyll and I usually bag a roe once or twice a year. Enjoy the butchering part and cooking. I’m also hoping to get more into pigeons to improve my driven shooting. I also happily accept invitations for stags or hinds, although I prefer the hinds. For some reason I seem to have collected / been given many rifles and guns over the years, and I’m hoping to slim down and upgrade! Current armoury is .22 x 2, .243, 6.5 SW, and 5 shotguns (pair of nice 20s, an old English 12b, a heavy Browning 12b, and a FAC Remington semi auto). As I sometimes store my rifles at my in-laws place when I’m there, I also have on my ticket a .17 HMR, .222 and .308 - but that’s only so I can access their safe legally. Stupidly I’ve bought the new HikMicro Stellar 3.0 for foxing. They have a lot of fox and crow trouble at the in-laws’ and I’m hoping to help them out. However trying to get mounts to fit my extremely heavy 30-year 6.5SW made me realise I probably need to upgrade, and also change my calibres. I’m trying to give my .243 away to my nephew (as it was also his grandfather’s once), so I’m thinking of ditching one of the .22s and the 6.5SW, and getting a .223 (for the HikMicro) and 6.5 CR - probably the Tikka T3 CTRs. I like the idea for the 6.5CR for everything the 6.5SW does now and also some long distance vermin. I sometimes re-load using my father-in-laws kit and considering buying my own.
