New Member Introduction

Hi All
I am a relatively new Essex marsh wildfowler looking to give deer stalking a go and find how to get started.
Stalking and wildfowling are in many ways closer relatives than many think . Easy was is book some stalking ( even without your FAC and personal rifle ) Yeah its legal ! Under the " estate rifle rule " . You can pay really big money for stalking , pay very little or for free ( maybe a swap for wildfowling ?)
After you know you like it , look at doing your DSC1 as many places want this as a minimum if you are to stalks alone . BASC have the Arran Scheme where you can get onto some big stags and its not silly money but you need level 1 minimum . Bowland Blades | Bespoke Hunting & Kitchen Knives

I think you are right, they can both be solitary pursuits, focused at dawn or dusk, no guarantees and not for the faint hearted who might give up after a few blanks. The swap is a good idea, my club allows guests with their own insurance / SGC. Perhaps get my first stalk under my belt before I burden someone else with taking me out. Thanks for the suggestions.
