Greetings from the New Forest!
I've joined this forum as a means to getting some advice on shooting matters. Right now I'm in the process of ordering a Tikka T3X in .308 (given up the 243) ready for the next fallow season, I'll be reviewing posts on here to get some suggestions on ammunition choice. I don't shoot many deer a year at the moment, I don't have a reliable outlet for them so only shoot for the freezer and give away most of the meat.
I've also got a .223 with a thermal scope that I chase foxes with, a 17HMR for the rabbits (when I can find any), a 22LR gathering dust, an FAC S510 which is a supreme rat buster and a sub-12 air rifle also for rats. Pest control is a hobby, gives me an excuse to get out of the house away from the tribe!
My deer permission must have a clock in the adjacent woods as the deer often arrive 5 minutes after the magic hour. I'm toying with doing my DSC1 as a route to getting a night license as the landowner wants the deer gone. Another thing for me to research.
