Good evening All,

I’m Zim,

I’m from Zimbabwe and have shot most of my life, I moved to England back in 2001 and have been stalking since with a few old boys I met in that introduced me into the lovely sport of game shooting and stalking in the Uk, I started off stalking Roe assisting on an Estate in my village as I was the youngster I became the so called “truck and trailer” as they saw me as fit and would extract deer from anywhere lol so I learnt how to stalk Roe in woodland and open fields, with the occasional outing for Fallow on exmoor and then Muntjac in Wiltshire.
I have several cal. .22 .222 .243 and my lovely 6.5x55SE, I enjoy reloading as well.
I’m looking to meet and hopefully find some stalking around Devon/Dorset/Wiltshire and Hampshire if anyone would like company holding a spot light or just getting to meet new people, or just having a Rum or Brandy around the fire im game.

Hi Zim
Welcome to the site!

I was fortunate enough to spend a fair bit of time in Zim as a youngster in the early '90s. Worked on a game farm, learned to fly there! Amazing time!

Loads of like minded folks here, so I'm sure you'll find the right opportunities, for a fireplace rum if not for deer! 😀

How’s it Messy that’s great and glad you got to experience the wonders of that beautiful country, I grew up in Bulawayo. My older brother moved back last year new the falls placed called Mlibizi his running a fishing resort there, and as a few of his friends are still PH’s his already had a few opportunities to shoot some things for national parks as PAC (problem animal control) which so im itching to go back next year to help with a few of I can.
But if you ever want to go back out I can put you in touch.

So do any of you guys on here get together as a cohort and meet each other or is it just as and when guys get out stalking?
Yah I’d like to get out hopefully.

Welcome on board, I had the good fortune to visit Zim this year to hunt the Dande safari area in the north east corner of the Zambezi valley. Stunning country indeed. Did you do any hunting out in Zim?
Hi Selous,
Yah I did hay my brother was a PH out in Zim from when I was 9 so had plenty of outings with him and his friends that still shoot now.
The Dande very nice area, who was your PH the guys I know who shoot out there are York Mare with Dalton safaris and then you had a Charlton McCallum SafarisI I mean there are alot of operators that are good in Zim depending on what your looking for, Mike Bliugnot Mbalabala Safaris.
What did you shoot while you were there.
I’m just waiting for my variation to come in for a 375. Where abouts are you in England ?

Welcome from North Devon.

I spent many years in Bamba Zonke. Some of my happiest memories are time spent on the Zambezi, Kariba, Inyanga, VF.

We (@NickJ , @Sybarite Sporting and me) were with CMS in the dande with Gareth Lecluse and David Mann. Both of these guys were first class. We were hunting buffalo (successfully) and tuskless (unsuccessfiully). I have been in contact with Dalton and York too and nearly went for an extra trip this winter but time did not permit. We are from the north west of england, I see you are on the south coast, quite a way away which is a shame. Could have met up and had a chat some time. If you venture into the grim northern wastelands then let us know!

That’s great man and well if any of you guys are near Bournemouth I get out fishing a lot so always happy to add oaks.
I never went that far up but it’s a beautiful part of the country. I spent most of my time in the Marula/pluntree area south/southwest and and mainly the falls

Why what happened, I’m actually friends with him on FB but haven’t seen anything, to be fair I only use FB for contacts.

He had a client shoot a leopard “in the middle “ as he told me then had to feed it his arm when it charged during the follow up. Sounds like it was shot by the client and game ranger almost off the top of him!
A few days in hospital and a longish op later he is back out. He was hunting again within a few weeks… tough bugger!! 😁

Lucky though that that was the extent.
Do you do much up for way stalking wise?

There is a fair population of red, roe and a few fallow around us. Nothing like the same populations as in parts of Scotland but enough to keep busy
