I've been wanting one of these for so long! Just trying to save up the money for one. Got an email off of pse a few days ago, it says they are launching a new range of rifle stocks at iwa. Surely I can't be the only one massively excited to see whats coming out 👀

Have to say I’m looking forwards to see what developments there are

We have been approached many times asking why we do not offer our stocks with visual carbon. The reason for this was that our existing range of stocks were designed in such a way that the carbon used is not as pleasing to the eye due to it being placed in such a way that it preforms better under load not laid for looks. We refused to go down the road of making a stock for looks only sacrificing on performance. In the last 3 years we worked on finding a process and technology that would lead to a stock with less compromises. Little things like sound when touching/taping the surface needed to be sorted as good as possible. The stocks needed to be filled not hollow which also helps with recoil dampening. Structural they needed to be of a monocoque construction to take dynamic structural loads. Internal carbon structure as backbone or skeleton would help in overall stiffness and recoil distribution. Once we had all this thought through we could go ahead. We started with a stock closely related to our E-Lite stock which was hand shaped, tried and tested. The new "Evolution" range of stocks are between 20-40% lighter than our existing range of stocks and we believe just as strong. We will launch this new range of stocks next week at the IWA show in Nurnberg Germany.

I knew this thread was going to be expensive when it started. Are you really saying it’s going to be sub 700 grams @PSE Rifle Stocks . Thank you @Craigmcwill 🤣
The two Rem 700 stocks we made for the IWA show were fitted with forged carbon pillars that extend forward into the recoil lug, part of the internal carbon structure also shapes the recoil lug area. The forged carbon reduces the weight compared to alu design and if I remember right the stock on the tripod weighs in at 640 grams 22.6oz. The other weighs around 670grams 23.7oz with extra spacer and small pica rail. The |Howa long action stock with alu pillars was around 700 grams, with forged carbon pillars also around 660 grams.

will they be made with recoil pads that actually sit perfectly flush to the stock :eek::rolleyes:

Only joking -

will you have a choice of recoil pad maker?

Prices are not set in stone yet.
Recoil pad will be slightly smaller than the stock as the stock has a small radius on the back. This helps to centre the spacers as well as pad. No sharp edge sticking up. Worked well since several years on our existing stocks. Advantage is one can get spare pads without the need of "grind to fit" pads. We will however try get them to fit better than on our existing range.

Oh blimey just ordered a stock and maybe I should have waited 🙄
Don't worry it will take a little while until production gets rolling with the Evo stocks. So far we have the Howa LA as well as Rem SA. We will be able to have at least two different barrel channels especially to also cater for the larger carbon barrels. After the IWA we will make decisions which will be the next inlet.

640 grams!!!

Stiff, strong, doesn’t sound hollow, looks great. The holy grail.

Best start saving…
