If it outperforms the Drone at night, then I'll Buy 2, It is about time the Might of Pulsar brought something out to top the Drone Pro, after all the Drone is built in a big Garden shed in the Ukraine, here's hoping.

It will be much less susceptible to white out than the current Digex because the full HD colour sensor it uses is much less sensitive than the HD black and white sensor used in the current Digex.
As has been said, this is the product which, if it had been available 3 years ago would have significantly reduced sales of the PARD 008.
As it stands, Pulsar look like they are playing catch up with a product they never wanted to produce, but have been forced to by the success of the PARD
It's also ironic that the C50 is available without an IR - which is simply a tacit admission by Pulsar that a vcsel based IR is needed to get the best out of the sensor but, because they spent so much time and effort slagging off vcsel IR illuminators because they are "dangerous" they know they would look stupid if they supplied the C50 with a such an illuminator.
Don't get me wrong, I hope the C50 is a great NV scope and it sells, but I fear the price will be significantly more than a PARD 008.
The Pulsar will be better built and probably more reliable, but a higher purchase price, plus the need to spend more money on a decent IR, and no LRF option to compete against the PARD008 LRF means that anyone on a budget will go for a PARD before a Pulsar.
As for "will it be better than a Drone Pro?" -the simple answer is a resounding NO
The PARD is x3-14, with a 50mm objective lens and by the time you get to x14, the image will be rubbish
The Drone Pro is fixed x10 with a 108mm objective lens
I've said it before and it remains true that until someone builds an NV scope with an objective lens as large and as good as that fitted to the Drone pro, the Drone Pro will remain king of the hill.

Cheers

Bruce

A timely release by Pulsar. We've just completed development of a new version of the VCSEL Dark Engine, specifically designed for lower base mag dedicated and front clip on scopes with HD and 4K sensors.

Running final assembly of the first batch now.

The new model will be the 'Dark Engine ID'. Small and lightweight so it won't ruin the ergonomics of the setup either. 👍

Cheers

Bruce there is no doubt that the DP image is top notch and even though the one I had was getting on for 6 years ago I can still remember the wow factor.
But I think the new 4K stuff (Wulf 4k) is more versatile with its excellent day image and base mag large FOV night image, then mag up for more precise shot placement with its more than adequate image. Also the 30mm tube platform is lighter/sleeker with a choice of mounting options.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you and Russ get one of the first batch from OW for evaluation.

For all my opinion is worth and I’m no technologically gifted but am out 4/5 times a week with my job it probably will be ok. However 3.5x magnification is to low a base figure. If the digital zoom is like the Digex it will be all but you usable past 6x. Yes it’s got PIP and that’s a help. Soon as Pulsar realise that hog shooting in Texas is not the only market the better. Bring out a unit starting at 6 or 8 x and I think they are into a winner. I really regret selling my Dronepro and struggling to beat a Pard007

I agree totally , higher mag is more suitable for a lot of users but I would wait and see how it performs ..

A Sightmark wraith is 4.5x vs a Pard 6.5x both with identical FOV. All have 1080P sensors .

I think you will find the Pulsar digital magnification when utilised degrades significantly less than others .. let’s wait and see 🙂
