New Solaris SRX V2

Couple of threads on Facebook (now removed) where quite a few folk have been left disappointed after waiting for months. Still, you live and learn.
It works spot on . It’s a wider beam unlike that ridiculous one on the first incarnation , personally I think it’s an improvement .

Just got email saying he can't fulfill order due to quality issues and I will be refunded. End of a sorry saga.
IR Lightbuilds customer service is the opposite of your recent experience and their Reach is a very good laser illuminator.

i have two v1’s i purchased a v2 and couldn’t get on with it found it very awkward/stiff to adjust flood to spot and the spotting range was nowhere near the v1

That's interesting because I also had two of the V1's (sold one on this forum). I still have one and it is very good. Just wanted to compare it to the new V2.

A. bit of information for anyone waiting for their refund.
I sent Trevor cartwright a email thursday 30th saying that i hadn't received my refund, i had a email back this morning saying that he had only initiated the refund thursday night, it has then to go through payment processer, then your bank, any bank holidays will delay it also.

Just been looking at possible ways to upgrade the Black Sunnranger 2 I'm using with my C50 and found this relatively recent thread.

What is it with basic customer service in this field? So many tales of woe relating to IR illuminators - and I've had my fair share!

Just thought I'd share - I currently have the SRX v2 open on two different Torch Factory tabs on my computer - both with different prices! Seems it's on offer again provided you hit the right link out of a google search.

Are these any good with C50 specifically? Am I likely to feel the upgrade compared to the Sunnranger 2? Or is PBIR X the way to go?

Most importantly I suppose - do they actually exist in the wild? Or am I going to experience 'more of the same' as described above, and with another well known lamp supplier I've tried to do business with in the past?

Cheers

Are you saying Ian a LED. Is better than a laser 🤔
Thanks ate
100% cleaner beam and smoother image on a C50 or Alpex or Alpex 4K under 100yds , past this distance it drops off, but still good on the likes of the mentioned scopes.. VCSEL is great for intensity and throw but the image has small artefacts even with a filter in front of the VCSEL itself to smooth the image, this reduces the itensity quite a bit and throw, but even still its not as nice an image as an LED...

People are obsessed with power with IR, it's not all about power...

As an example a Blade IR when used on an Arken Zulus using it's own VCSEL is barely any difference in image or throw...

A Solaris or PBIR or whatever using VCSEL will have more throw than an LED for sure... but the LED is silky smooth under 100yds and and still good way out to 250yds with these scopes.... so why put something that x3 times the cost, if you only shooting upto 250 yds, you could shoot further, on these low base mag scopes with 3.5x optical approx ... The price difference is not worth it..

I only use LED not for external IR source on Zulus, Alpex, etc..

IF I was using a rear add on , then a high power VCSEL for sure would be my choice due to all the additional layers of glass sapping IR transmission from the sensor.....

Everyone got different reasons but in most cases, people just don't need these torches, they add weight and cost, plus at distances quoted no real gain..
