I spent about 10 minutes discussing the target version with the /tikka rep at shot show.
The bottom line is the action and barrel have NO improvement over a Tac A1/CTR or any of the T3X family.
I was disappointed as would have swopped one of mine out if there had been any manufacturing improvements made.

To be honest, nothing I was only hoping that they had changed something for the better, new barrel twist rate, options for a loner barrel (26/28”), May changed the bolt slightly making it easier to clean.
Not a lot to improve, for the price point they are excellent both for performance and bang per buck.

One of the most versatile factory actions out there that are reliable, accurate (usually) and when maintained , free from issues

Won't be landing until July!
Handled one in the shop (different calibre), felt good. I'll be using it primarily for stalking on open ground, bit heavy but not ridiculous... while I'm still relatively young ( & dull!!).

I'm sure it will be fine weight wise. Keep the likes of the scope and mod lightweight and it won't be too bad.

I'm ordering one of these in 300wm next month (was going to be 7PRC but for some reason my local force wouldnt let me have one conditioned for deer, but were fine with 300wm)
Ideally I'd like the cerakote model but thats a 6 month lead time, whereas the normal black model is a few weeks
Please do post photos of groups from what I've seen on youtube they shoot incredibly well

The Ace Game spoke for the first time in the field this morning.
Two red spikers.
Very impressed with the 6.5 PRC's performance
First one down was at 277 yards, second ran in to 180.
Stalking open grown with no opportunity to get closer, with a mandate to dissuade the reds from further damaging the barely.

Managed to get to the range to get mine zeroed today. Had another click right from there and called it a day.
Hopefully give it a test on some Sika Stags next weekend!

Im impressed considering its a brand new barrel, factory ammo and a completely new rifle/cartridge combination for me. Just assembling the necessary stuff for home loading and will then work a load up
