New to me BAR .300 WInnie.

They were known also as "jammermatics" especially when they got damp.
I have a jerkomatic 760 that I'm really fond of , a great old ( 1958 ) rifle . It's chambered in 308 and is a generally useful little thing . It won't impress your friends , but it kills things quite reliably . I'd take a 760 over a 742 any day .

Lot of blokes used them ( and woodmasters) over hounds for sambar hunting pre the ban. Terry Allen even had one customised for him to .458 Win Mag.
I've seen two 458WM chambered BARs over the years . One of which was built on an old rifle that I used to own . It was a 7mmRM when I owned it . Apparently , it wasn't that difficult a job . A cool rifle , but I'd prefer a bolt or a double for a dangerous game rifle .......................... since I'm a broke ass red neck , a bolt action will have to do lol .

4350 too quick for a 180gr in 300WM IMO. H1000, Retumbo, RL,25/26 - Viht N165, RS70 or RS76. I'd also expect over 70gr of powder
In a bolt gun, I think your right on the money. In a gas operated semi, perhaps not. I noted that when I used IMR 4350, the spent cases all spat out to the front and right. With the H V 100 Highbrid , the ejection pattern was here and there. As suggested by AB, I’m looking for my can is IMR 4831, we will see.

It does not like IMR 4831, at least with the Nosler 280 gr. Accubond. On left is 70 gr. On right is 71. One of the cases with 71 gr, had a small gas leak. Top right case, note the brown coloring, going to try the Norma 204 next.

I ordered one of these, going to try it. I have a friend that has one on his Winchester M 70, makes it shoot 1 “ groups.
