New Year reflection.

Happy New Year, one and all!

I think it's an appropriate time to reflect upon the diversity of this site.
Although it often gives the impression of being an exclusive club for white, British, straight, post-mid-life-crisis, ex-military, English speaking, carnivorous, right-wing males that is not the case.
There are both male and female members, there are LGBTQ+ members, there are young members, there are vegetarian members, there are members whose first language is not English (or even Welsh), there are members who were not born in the UK but now live here, there are black, brown and yellow skinned members, there are both low income and high income members, there are both landowners and tenants. There are those with successful careers and there are those who depend upon financial support. There are pacifist members, and there are members from all parts of the political spectrum.
The whole social demographic is represented here, yet despite that diversity we are all brought together by one common interest: A love of deer and stalking.
It would be nice if, going forward, we could put that common interest more firmly at the heart of our discussions, and cast aside some of the extreme bigotry that so sadly characterises many of the threads that appear on SD.

We all love a good moan , but there shouldn’t be space for hatred on this site imo.

I'm guessing that the owner of Blasers, who has shot exclusively copper ammo for several seasons now, would probably best keep schtum about it then?

Whilst I agree with your post, it is because of all you described our population is that we get such subjects and remarks on all post, some I chuckle at, some I shake my head at, some I ponder over and others I just ignore.

Although not sure one respects diversity by calling others' opinions, often entirely reasonable ones, extreme bigotry. But then the prevalent current use of "diversity", like "liberal", has become self-antonymous.
