Hi all.
Specific question for anyone with experience of holding an FAC in Northern Ireland for hunting.
In NI I'm aware of the banded calibre system. So for hunting large quarry (deer) there is a band of calibres (.243 Winchester/.25-06/6.5mm x 55/.256/7mm x 08 Remington/.270/7.62 x 51mm/.308 Winchester/.30-06) that we can do one on one off for.
Firstly is it possible to have possession of two different calibres from this band for loosely the same thing? E.g .243 Win and say it's for Roe deer and .308 Win but say it's for sika or red deer? Or do they just look at deer as one type of animal and say you're only allowed one of those calibres at a time to hunt?
Secondly 6.5 Creedmoor isn't in any of the bands and from searching the forum I'm aware it requires a variation every rifle change rather than the one on one off process. But does anyone have experience in NI with owning a .308 for large quarry and also 6.5 creedmoor also for large quarry? Because it's not in the listed bands do FEB look at it as something you can also have if you can justify how's it useful and different than the .308?
Thanks
