Not wearing a Poppy yet?

Placed two orders with Legion shop on 23rd October.
Received 2 emails couple days later...orders dispatched.
Emailed them 3 days ago to say no show, then yesterday one order arrived by post, and later yesterday I got email apologising for delay and saying my order was now dispatched.
Hope it arrives soon.
Cheers,Ken.

Well according to him and his contacts, The British Legion are the only charity that benefits from the poppy sales , they have over 170 million in the bank
and they don't help any war veterans, and according to Jim Help the heroes don't any more either, you must watch his channel, he's on you tube its called why i don't where a poppy anymore.

I wear one and I could't give a flying feck what nik ! nik ! has to say about it . I wear one so the fallen are remembered from all conflicts .
Less we forget . :british:
My 96 year old pal up the road was on market garden we got him from the BL the poppy with the Para wings norm he is hard as nails, This was the only time i'v ever seen him lower his head with sadness and joy of being given such a small item .

My mate was on Market Garden too also was tough as nails ref powerlifting stuff but soft as the proverbial too, a wonderful bloke he was, we lost touch when he went back up to Crewe RR to work.
I got my poppy 2 days ago from Dover branch.

This year I have cut out a 6ft silhouette of ‘Tommy Atkins’ (ww1 rifleman stood with head bowed and inverted rifle) out of shuttering ply and painted it matt black.
I’d seen several stood locally on a roundabout and a couple at a local pub so now have one on my roadside verge with a ‘ lest we forget’ banner.
A small gesture but makes the point to passing traffic, possibly encourage a few more to turn out on Sunday.

Jim Davidson has a point charities fill bank accounts whilst ex servicemen struggle.
As a side note Jim has done a lot of work for the veteran community. He was also a regular on deployments entertaining troops

Help for heroes started with good intentions and ended up paying high salaries to all there staff through donations.

I will always wear a poppy for the fallen. My charitable donations go to BLESMA and Erskine.

I now support Blind Veterans (that was before known as St. Dunstan's) as they helped by late grandfather very much after WWI. Trained him as a woodturner and how to keep poultry and even provided financial help by means of a loan for him to purchase a smallholding. I've never given anything to Help for Heroes and never would for the reasons noted immediately above. The Royal British Legion have done good work and lobbied to have Parliament reject Thatcher's attempts to block the re-instatement of War Widows' Pensions to those war widows who had re-married a second husbands that had then subsequently died.

The Royal British Legion don’t help any veterans..... according to some prune on YouTube who gets paid by the click.... the more outrageous their claims - the more clicks they get and the more money YouTube pay them!! You’d be better sending your bank details to that bloke in Nigeria who has $8 million but can’t put it in his own bank account than believing a single word on almost any YouTube channel at all!!

The Legion does amazing work for many many veterans - always has and always will! Their accounts are published in the public domain - they are independently audited and even the auditors notes are available for all and anyone to see! Rather unlike the likes of Davidson’s affairs and those of his mysterious contacts.

Regardless of how you choose to remember Armed service men and women, wearing a poppy is a personal choice. No one should be vilified for deciding not to wear one, whatever their reason.

I have the utmost respect for all service people and have friends and family who served. I don't wear a poppy, because I don't feel the need, Some years I do, some I don't. I'd rather donate to Mind as there are plenty ex service men who need their help more than that of the Haig fund.

I met Jim at a kit sale where he did stand up/the auction, a very funny and down to earth guy who cares about the troops.

First time I met him I think was the Balkans in 19999, again in Iraq and 2003 and I’m sure he turned up in Afghan a few times. He has done a lot for troops throughout his career, and is also still very involved in supporting both troops and veterans. A decent bloke.
