Old brass

I've inherited my son in laws .270 W rifle after he passed away last year. There are a lot of once fired brass some of which are probably 10 years old. I want to reload for this rifle. If I have the cases annealed do you think they will be safe to use. It's all Federal brass

Yer once fired should be absolutly fine as long as there are no obvious imperfections that could cause a problem eg dents or splits.

Sorry about your son-in-law 😕

Federal brass is pretty good, in my experience. I'm on a sixth and seventh reloads with some of mine. Once-fired you can just resize. I didn't need to anneal until the third or fourth reload 👍

Shot hundreds through my 270 using federal cases never had any annealed.
If the primers seem loose or necks lose there grip just pull them use components again with a different case.
No big deal just get some good use out of the rifle and components its what your son in law would have wanted
