Old Car & Motorcycle Photos

The 450 bhp 1988 930 Porsche Turbo I hammered a few times might just be able to keep up with you.
It would blow the old Cortina into the weeds. When new in 1969 it was state of the art but would struggle to keep up with any moderately hot modern hatch, never mind a Porsche with more than 3X the power, far more advanced tyres and suspension.

Had several old cars over the years what might be referred to as classics today
Mk1 Cortin Lotus look alike.
Mk1 Capri face lift heavily breathed on
Triumph Herald restoration project
My all time favourite was my Stype Jag unfortunately I had to let it go during Covid
Just couldn't afford to keep it.

Here's a 1960 Opel Olympia that I used to drive around in Germany back in the 60's

These bikes were made in the sheds to the left of the picture, the chap who made the frame jigs was "Len" who made
Alf Hagon's world record sprinter...
Dad and Len made all the frames and sub parts, Martin did the gearboxes (blanked off top gear) where my chiller stands.
I grew up watching lengths of tube come off a truck and the finished bike come out the door as in the picture.
Last time Dad caught up with Alf was at Tottenham Hale many years ago chatting about the grass track racing in the 60's
This sound was a regular occurance on a Sunday morning when Dad would start a Jap and give it a "quick run up the road"
as it was being collected that day..

Oh and don’t forget about this one
I had a gold coloured Reliant super van in the early 70s . With large town and country tyres on the back there were few places that van would not go. Even manage to get a large fallow buck in the back and have driven round the woods of the south downs in it. Me and my trusty spaniel did a lot of mileage in the plastic pig.

As a kid I fell in love, still a lot of love for possibly the greatest car design ever or at least one of them. The convertible for me as the roofed model looked a bit ugly duck from some angles.
I can see myself driving one of them in BRG and with alongside a sheila equipped with super jubblys just to pi$$ my mates off ha ha.

There you go John, I've scanned this for you to drool over; my dad gave this to me along with some promotional black & white prints when I was at school.
