Omicron

Entered the UK last week. PCR yest before leaving Ghana. Endless paperwork as well. Booked a day 2 test which was PCR+Lateral Flow. Arrived in Heathrow for connecting flight. No paperwork checked whatsoever. Arrived home, done both tests both negative.

Stop agonising over this crap. That is what they want you to do. Unless you're half dead to start with, it will not hurt you. Don't get sucked down this wormhole. Wash your hands at the usual junctures, like your mother taught you, don't sleep with lepers or French kiss people with TB, but otherwise get on with your lives.
Everyone has a choice as you point out. For some balance a good mate of mine his brother thought like you, “This is all crap” anti vax read all the tin hat posts and web sites. Mid forties no underlying medical conditions, caught Covid ended up in hospital then 8 days on a ventilator came home after just over 4 months in hospital he now has barely 30% lung function plus some other organ damage physically he is now wrecked and most of the damage is irreversible He didn’t die and doesn’t feature on any stats other that he caught Covid

Broken Britain? the system should be following up on all arrivals, I will be coming over in a few weeks and I expect all the palaver to be in place. Otherwise they will never get a grip on the infections spreading.

I came back to the UK in mid November after 8 mnths unable to get back. No-one at Heathrow checked my papers. A complete and utter joke.
As for getting a booster vaccine here (having had jabs 1 and 2 overseas) Well as near as dammit impossible.

Total incompetence and mismanagement all round 😡

The latest evidence emerging is supporting the theory that the virus is mutating in the bodies of people with weakened immune systems.
Especially people suffering with HIV.
This is why the latest variant came from Africa where a lot of people have HIV.
So it makes sense to offer vaccines to these countries to try and limit the viruses ability to mutate instead of watching it mutate then queuing up for another jab that offers protection for a couple of months or so.
We actually have to stop being selfish on a global scale to stop this.
This is a global problem but it isn’t getting treated as such so I suppose it’s here to stay until then.
We need to give our vaccines to other countries for their sakes and our children and grand kids futures and I find it appalling the attitude of the older generation who just seem to be thinking about themselves in all this.
So who here would give all their future vaccine shots away to another country?
Obviously I respect everybody’s opinion, there is no right or wrong, no arguing just a simple yes I’d give them all away or no I would take them myself?
Looking forward to this,
Thanks in advance

I am living life as normal apart from all the inconvenience caused by the scaremongering sh*t emanating from the public sector, and no I don't feel the slightest inclination to damage my health by polluting my body with all manner of man-made toxins either!

I take it you never had the MMR or BCG, or Polio, Diptherea, Typhoid or Tetanus etc vaccinations. Or perhaps Hep B and Yellow Fever if you travel, or even Malarone for your Africa hunting trips!

If he did , he only had them once... Not three times a year, whether he'd had the actual disease or not

I think the scientists pretty much foretold this scenario . . .

Daily recorded Covid cases pass 100,000 for first time, reaching a record 106,122.

The number of new Covid cases recorded on the government’s dashboard has passed 100,000 for the first time in this pandemic, today’s figures show. The new daily total is 106,122.

This is more than 13,000 higher than the previous record - 93,045 on Friday last week.

This is higher than any daily total for new cases last winter, or in the autumn - and also in the first wave last spring, although because so little testing took place at that point recorded cases were very low, and totally unreliable as a guide to the real number of cases in the community.

(The recorded figures published these days are also a considerable understatement, because so many people do not display symptoms, or get a test, but it is assumed that the trend with recorded new cases does now track the trend with actual new cases.)

Today’s dashboard also shows that the total number of new cases over the past week is up 58.9% on the total for the previous week.

There have also been 140 further deaths.
