Excellent. Fear of consequence (especially painful ones) is a great deterrent. And a severe caning is an appropriate punishment in my view. Wish our spineless governments would take note and follow suit
 
I remember years ago when an American youth in Singapore was sentenced for caning for pouring paint over people's cars in a prank.

I only ever came across one person who was against that sentencing.
 
We've just finished watching a program about policing in the Scottish Highlands. A group of drunk 15 year old lads were creating problems in Inverness. One was caught, and started mouthing off to a female PC about being untouchable due to his age. Once she'd got the ok from the custody sergeant she bent the wee sh1thole double and got the cuffs on him. He immediately started bleating about how sorry he was, and that he'd never do it again, etc. Her response was basically 'Tough sh1t'.

A more salutary example about how consequences work I can't imagine

Watched the same program it goes to show what’s wrong with society when people have no fear over their actions.How did they get their drink? They just walked in and stole it, Shown and shared a million times on social media.How does the saying go Monkey see Monkey do.Start punishing the wrong doers and perhaps society will come back .

We have a couple of friends who live most of the time in Singapore, they hate it when they come home to England, they view it as a lawless country compared to life in Singapore.
They have a one-bed apartment in Singapore, and a lovely barn conversion set in a couple of acres in Norfolk... they prefer the safety Singapore offers, despite living a somewhat cramped lifestyle when indoors ... let's make Britain great again :british:.

It is a lawless country by comparison. To a shocking extent most really arent aware of.

Many of big US cities are kips compared to their counterparts in East Asia
