Optolyth spotting scope

Hi. Someone local to me is selling a optolyth spotting scope, TBS 80, 30ww, with fluorite lens complete with a Swarovski tripod. He doesn’t know much about it, selling it on behalf of his parents. Looks in tidy condition. No idea what the glass is like. I’m interested but it would only really be used for pleasure, around the farm etc, not rifle work. Or very little if it was.
Had a quick google, seem a half decent scope? Good buy, or leave alone? Thanks

Thanks. I’m totally new to spotting scopes, never owned one before. Best to get the fixed 30ww over the 20-60?
Plus comes with a Swarovski tripod which must be half decent. Asking £200 for it.

As well as the exterior of the glass, check the image as sometimes you can get a fungus build up, they are good scopes but getting on a bit, if its immaculate ifs probably worth the money but I'd be looking at less than that

they have great optics , 30x is a good mag the variable if i am honest you'll likely use it around 30x mostly anyway , £200 is about right if it's in good nick , the tri pod will likely be a manfrotto which are good just branded as swarovski

I use an Optolyth TBG-80 with 20-60 zoom lens as my spotting scope at the range. It’s a cracking piece of kit.

I’ve always meant to pick up a fixed-power 20- or 30X lens for it as an alternative, as there’s a very slight but noticeable degradation of the image at the higher end of the zoom range.

Recommended.
