Remember orange crush but not sure what the equiv is

At the risk of splitting hairs

Zimbabwe Rhodesia didn't come about until the next year 1979 i think

We were still fighting in 1978 so if you came over for a hunting trip then you certainly had a large pair of the hairy ones ! :)

You might be correct. I was the last hunter of the year in October. They were preparing the city for Mugabe to arrive. As we were about to land the plane went 'lights out' and 'spiraled' down. The jets had 'heat deflectors' to confuse missiles. I was younger and less smart at that time! capt david

Where did you go hunting?

i was based out of a fire force operating base outside W-a-n-k-i-e (had to hyphenate else the 'thought police' block the word out)

Tourists going into the Zambezi valley at that time had to have a death wish

I can get Oros here for $16 per liter. I think it's from South Africa. I think I'll pass! capt david

Thanks for the help

I think I have this right. I hunted Bulawayo on a farm and out of a 'lodge' on the outskirts of Buffalo Range on land near a huge sugar cane operation, for buffalo. capt david

I think it was a bit quieter down there

Still - credit where credit's due - not many people choose a war zone for their summer hols :finger:

However, it never ceased to amaze me how many tourists came to Vic Falls - despite mortaring and rocketing every few days
