Ordering From MDT Direct

So this arrived today🤙🏽😀

Ordered directly end of Nov.
It was on back order so I did expect the wait.
Tax was calculated and paid at checkout.
I had some important end user agreement forms to fill in after order placed and then again this week once it was at uk customs.
Otherwise easy.

Any imports, if they pull them, will also be subject to a handling charge (between £10-15 depending on who it comes through) and 20% VAT. So not just the 2.5% import duty. Not everything that comes through gets picked up.
I've had fly fishing stuff come through with no charge.

Not the case with mdt. All duty etc is paid by them at there end, and show in the invoice. Had 3 seperate orders from them and all went smoothly. Just a few forms that need to be filled out to be released by customs.

That's good to know.

It gets me how much they are over here, and then you see the Black Friday MDT sale and it’s even more galling! I’ve managed to pick a couple up in Canada and bring them back (under the tax free limit I hasten to add). Canadian customs have had a good look at them both times but let them through once they were happy they knew they were parts (doesn’t help MDT come with bottom metal so they are a distinct rifle shape…).

Ha luckily the savings are much much less on stocks like that so not the end of the world! How is the field stock?
I've only had one session on it but, so far, it feels great and feels solid on the bench. I had a Boys AT-one on and although good, didn't have enough adjustment on comb and pull length. On the Field Stock the comb us just over half way up and with all four adjusters on the pull length it feels spot on.

Since last year we can take part in the black Friday sale! I picked up a tikka long action hnt26 folder for what is under 50% of the cost from a dealer over here!!

That’s good to know, thanks! The deals they had last year were too good to be true. I noted their dealers (or some of them at least) also mirrored the sale so maybe worth checking out. Only six months to wait!

I ordered an adjustable butt pad unit for a XRS last blsck Friday and a bamboo hoodie.

Order dispatched nice and quick and was held up by UK customs as they wanted paperwork from me to describe and make a statement it wasn't a firearm.

I duly completed their pdf paperwork and had to speak to an individual in the end to describe what the butt pad unit was...because it had the word rifle in it there must have been some super magic that made it deadly!

So i described the unit as an inert metal and rubber object that once fitted to a rifle is placed in the shoulder when firing a rifle. The bamboo hoodie I described as an item of clothing made from a plant.

I received my order 4 days later.
