Thank you all for the positive responses. I picked 6.7kg of sloes this morning with my two eldest sons. By my reckoning that is enough to last a bottle a day next season.

Great photos, it looks like you have a great setup there, congrats.
The only worry for me is that in the first photo they resemble the “Wild Bunch” 😂😂😂😂

The shoot works out at approximately £43 per day, no tip etc needed. There is a big misconception in the media that shooting game is a rich man’s sport. It is more affordable than a football season ticket!
How do you manage that? Do you release any game?

I have a small shoot and the costs are frightening, and we do not have any game crops.

I run one 11 guns 620 birds and £550 for ten days shooting. But we are well into the float this year with feed prices.
£43 Is very impressive well done sir 👏

I told one of my guns Saturday you could break about a 100 clays for what we charge for a day. He was gobsmacked

We pay too much for land rent, 1,500 acres and barely cover it in a season. 550 released. Good effort Bumpy with your figures too. The team of guns are great at beating / walking gun / work their dog etc for each other. Working together to ensure we are not crowded or too sparse, safe shooting etc. It is physically demanding. I run 5k every morning before breakfast without breaking a sweat but at the end of a shoot day I’m broken but happy. Very to have such a great group of like minded sportsmen.
