Parasol mushroom?

Crikey! What a waste!
I bet you don't eat much venison either, after chucking the "inedible" bits of a carcass in the bin!
What about the other mushrooms in your first photo? Going to eat those? I'd be more worried about them than the parasol. Could be death caps or yellow stainers or blushers or any one of a number of deadly toadstools :scared:
Er, you couldn't be more wrong in relation to the venison, 2 roe shot a week ago, apart from the usual 'best bits' I have been busy, made Salami today, yesterday jerky and prepping pastrami which I intend to smoke with the 'smokies' I have made this afternoon.
Yes you might be correct, I wasted the Parasol (or maybe not!) but the field mushrooms are in the fridge and will be in my stomach tomorrow.
That was a bit silly of you to suggest such a thing.
Cheers
Richard

Well, provided you're certain that the field mushrooms were correctly identified, that's OK. Parasols are very distinctive in appearance, and are unlikely to be mistaken for anything else. Field mushrooms, on the other hand, can be confused with lots of things.

(And parasol mushrooms taste better :thumb:)

Isn't that a Destroying Angel on the top left...?

If in doubt, don't!

Now, can somebody get the pan on, I'm going after the parasols in the bucket, I'm with Tim on this one; btw, the Tesco mushrooms are every bit as deadly, though they usually take a bit longer to work (like a lifetime); my pal served up a mean wild mushroom risotto, his dinner guests were much taken, until one enquirer asked where he'd got the recipe:

"Interestingly enough, I found it in the last chapter of an Agatha Christie novel!"
