Pard 007 SP LRF GEN2 Versus Pard 007 V

Blimey
I only use up to 10 mag rarely on my day scope at the max, mostly 4-6 or much less 0n the hornet i have a 1-6 scope on it

I don’t think i’m having much luck to be honest, i thought i’d found the one , the new ATN 4K, only to find out from the supplier that they won't fit a blaser mount 🥹
C50 lights up like a xmas tree, and looks like the new 007 may have to much mag to be clear at shorter ranges 🥹

Only got the ward or vulpine 3 left
Keep looking phil 🤣

I assume you don’t want a dedicated NV scope like an Alex 4K or Arken? They tend to be much better than Pards in general.

I'll put my hand up to this, I’ve always had problems setting them up, I can’t stand over complicated scopes don’t need RF that’s on my thermals, IR I prefer external and although I keep looking I can’t find a straight plain jane quality nv Friend of mine has the ATN nv scope and I had the use of one -all good and for some reason I contacted the ATN guy re purchase of two on here who was very helpful but the new ATN doesn’t fit a blaser mount 🥹. Soooo it’s back to 007 I thought I might get the newest model 007 and stick with that I’ve got 3 calibers zeroed on the t ceptor I can use

If you do go for a dedicated nv scope I would be happy to set it up for you and show you how. No charge.

My lowest mag on my Hawke is 5 , if the 007 is a base mag of 4 ,im using 20 mag min, which I don't think ,
on targets 40,50yds I can turn the mag of the scope up to 10ish and get a great picture, which if correct would be 40 ish , ive had large mag scopes before and this mag isn't anywhere near those .

I got a 007V on the advice of a good shooting friend.
On his advice I set the scope mag as low as possible which is x3.
The other thing is he advised my to turn the front parallax down to between the 50’ and 50yd setting to get the best vision.

Should add that on day mode I can make out the wires on a fence 200yds away quite easily.

I also hate anything overly fiddly to configure and use, have to say I found the Alpex 4K to be the fastest zero I've had with any scope. Bore sight, 1st shot, adjust to point of impact, 2nd shot bang on target.

Nice simple menu system as well. I also have the 007 SP LRF Gen2, and it is good but since I've had a dedicated NV scope it's not been used at all. It just feels less of a faff with the dedicated unit.

I have mine set as low as poss on the mag and re focus on a sharp reticule from rat shooting to foxing I can’t fault the V My thoughts as per the ot is the new one any better, the new mounted rifle scopes are too busy for me I’ve had a few over the years and found new homes for them as things in nv world progressed, starting with the good old photon and reading just on here about zero not holding re zeroing etc etc I use the sights a lot and the 007 works every time with no issues and gimmicks, that’s reason I use the 007 it just does the job perfectly, I’m going to get the new one and use that as well and perhaps sell on one of the V’s personally the 007 is just about right with a low mag hawke for most calibres I use mine from a PCP right through to 204 using hawke scopes all nice faultless bits of kit
I still use the expensive euro glass on my stalking rifles
But for muntjac the 222 + hawke + 007 would be a real asset on the golden hour before dawn and post dusk,

Thanks for the info guys, really appreciated
Phil

I’ve had loads of NV and some of them I wish I still had them, but things move on, all that is in my choice is simplicity and visual don't need anything else, just to fire it up and use it, range on my thermal binos I could if I wanted use it but rarely do I use that, I use a good IR external put it altogether and it works a treat

My friend uses top of the range ATN with RF bullet trajectory the lot on a 22 PCP 12ft in air rifle and to give credit where it’s due he doesn’t miss a shot, I jokingly make a song and dance about when he’s faffing about but He is a killer on rabbits and rats, you definitely want the guy with you for numbers, he just loves it all
