Pard007 and Vortex Diamondback

My apologies if this is a topic that has been addressed before, but does anyone use a pard007 with a Vortex Diamondback (6-24x50mm ffp)? Or has seen this combination of scope/nv working?

Many thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom, I don't have experience of the Pard or Vortex scope, but assume your looking for both day/night scope ? The pard's have all been withdrawn by looks things as they have issues with IR. So alternative option to consider is the Sightmark Wraith as you can pickup for about £600 then buy a better improved IR torch to add on for about £150 extra. I use on both .22LR and .243 rifle as you can store multiple rifles in the scope settings. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thank you for your quick reply. I already have a Pard that I run with a nightmaster torch, the combination works well. I am looking to upgrade my scope though and I have always fancied a Vortex, but it is to go on my Weihrauch HW66 Jagdmatch that I use for target, daytime and nighttime hunting. Therefore it needs to be pard compatible.

Thanks again, Tom

I would not advise a Vortex, or any 6-24x50 scope with the PARD.
The base magnification is too high, and if you have the 16mm PARD, then your effective magnification becomes 8-32.
With that combo, trying to find your target will be a major issue.
I don't know if it is still the case, but Vortex scopes did have a reputation for not working well with NV rear add-ons
Frankly, I don't think you'll find a scope that will make a good job of all the things you want - too many conflicting features.
From a purely NV point of view, then a Delta titanium 2.5-15x56 is about the best with the PARD at the moment (unless you can find a used Sightron S Tac 2.5-17.5 x56)

Cheers

I use a Hawke frontier 5-30x50 with a pard 007 and it works very well, haven’t used it on any other scopes so can’t compare but the picture through the Hawke is very good.

It’s not so much an issue with the IR itself , I’m fairly certain it’s to do with the licensing of the IR.

I'm happy with the scope mag, it's what I already use with the pard. Yes it is a bit high mag, but it's nv so you can usually take your time a bit more. Just fancied treating myself to an upgrade and always fancied a Vortex, but I know some scope coatings aren't good for the ir transfer so wanted to check before I buy. Yes I have asked my scope shop but it isn't a combination they have tested.

Thank you all for the input so far!
