Sold: Peter Eaton Elmax Knives

Having not worked on my knives for several months I have recently made a few.

All these knives are of the highest grade Swedish Elmax powder steel, this a top level steel designed to be wear resistant which equates to longer lasting edges. Easily maintained with a strop but if it needs to be sharpened it must be with either a diamond or a ceramic sharpening system. I have ground these blades to incredibly fine edges which makes maintenance far easier, Due to the super fine grain structure of Elmax, along with its high compressive strength properties, such edges can be achieved. All my knives are genuine Elmax with the steel coming directly from the steel plant at Hagfors Sweden as opposed to the cheap Chinese 'rip off ' version of the steel

Remember, this is a steel costing around 2.5 times the price of other knife steels. It is only made in small quantities a few times a year, most of that steel goes to the north sea oil industry or food processing industry where high grade steels are a must.

All these knives have been heat treated and then Nitrogen 'soaked' and are 60-61 HRC. All sheaths are made by Gaz Kendall who has done work for the likes of Bentley. They have been 'wet formed/shrunk' as opposed to simple slide on sheaths and have a reassuring 'click' when the knife is placed in. So your knife will not fall out when stalking.

The first is a Fortis design blade with a 2.8mm spine, 234mm long with a cutting edge of 126mm. It has a full flat grind taken to the spine. It has a satin 'hand finish' with an 18 degree per side secondary bevel polished to a mirror finish with my diamond honing system. This knife is surgically sharp and cuts Rizla paper like a Gillette razor! The handle is super tough, food grade olive green G10 which has been layered with yellow / olive G10 liners. Finally it is complimented by 4 bronze pins.

£399 including secure signed for over 18s postage....ID checks will be made

I will load up more knives tomorrow.

I have to say i had the mindset to continue to use cheap Mora style knives after having nightmares about loosing a rather expensive knife while out shooting. But having just recently jacked in a job id done for the last 21 years and 6 months, a step closer to retiring i thought i would treat myself, thought stuff it id spend some money.

It looks and feels just lovely in your hand, the finish is really really nice, the wife even likes it she said it looks "pretty" (no she is not having one) i was intending to christen it today but the Muntjac had no intension of showing this morning.

Thank you Peter 👍 😁

Well have to say, used it on a Muntjac Doe on Saturday, did the job exceptionably well and with ease. A pleasure to use. 👍
