Pigeon magnets

I have an ancient pigeon magnet which needs replacing. Any advice on which magnet is best or what you guys are using?

Ideally something light and compact as some of the trips involve a 1/2 mile walk with the wheelbarrow down tramlines to a laid patch. Nice when I can drive to where I need to go but not always the case unfortunately. Cheers.

As an alternative, what about a mechanised flapper ? That would give you movement in the decoy pattern, as well as being lighter and less bulky to transport.

Flapper works just as well or even better than a magnet if part of a good decoy pattern and is a helluva lot easier on you…

Ive got a flapper but find that the magnet and flapper together work better in some situations 👍

Agreed but still like to have the magnet in combo with the flapper as I have had good results with both....however I have had good results with just decoys :)👍

I have an idiot magnet hidden somewhere on me. When I find it you are welcome to it!
I dont think idiots are on the open general license any more so I might get in trouble attracting them

My old magnet still works, well it attracts some pigeons for the idiot to miss lol

Hello, Look on the Night Hawke Out Door Value web site , They do a Heavy duty and Compact , The Compact have a 3 pin ground spikes and kick plate, Where as the heavy duty has 4 Spikes

I would still stick to a windscreen motor type, as over the years I have repaired more of the lightweight types than the windscreen motor type. The few ounce's you save is like the light moderator gang then shoot a 70kg fallow to drag back lol

All 3 of mine have w screen motors.

You should carry both if you can, I regularly use one or both depending on the set up
