Please allow me to introduce myself…

Yes, a couple, but I’m having trouble posting pics. I think I need to make 5 posts before I can upload a photo. So far I have built from kits. My first was a Jim Kibler .50 Colonial Rifle with a fancy grade Maple Stock. After that, I built a less expensive (and lower quality) kit with a shorter barrel that would facilitate hunting deer in thicker wooded areas of the US, like Pennsylvania. That kit was a Traditions .50 Prairie Hawken. I also built a Pedersoli .50 Kentucky Pistol.

I have a Pedersoli .50 Scout Carbine kit that I will probably build this Spring, and I think that will be my last kit, as I’d like to build a custom rifle in which I spec everything and make the stock from scratch, inletting everything by hand.

I’ll try to make a few more posts and come back to post pics of some flintlocks.
Welcome to SD . I have family in Pasadena , although most are leaving the Golden State lately . The Jim Kibler kits are really nice , I built one myself a while back , but have since traded it off for something I had to have at the moment lol . I've been looking at Pecatonica River lately , the Full Stock Hawken in particular . It's a disease with me . Looking forward to your input .

That looks to be a very nice kit. I haven’t seen that company’s offerings before. I’m curious who makes the barrel they offer, and what the twist rate is. Hopefully it’s suitable for PRBs, and not too fast a twist rate.

Also curious what the stock offered is, and what options may be available.

Yep, definitely a nice looking kit, and at a reasonable price.

I tend to like the full stock Hawkens, as well.

What part of Pasadena are your relatives in?

My cousin lives just east of the Eaton ? golf course . Her mother married an American Bomber pilot ( great guy ) after the war , the rest as they say , is history . Her brother and sister have left California recently , Idaho and Montana , to be exact .
Pecatonica offers a number of barrel , makers and rates of twist , options , along with a large choice of locks , both caplocks and flintlocks . Give them a call , really helpful and friendly people . Buy with confidence .

They must be just about 4 miles from where I live. I’m in a little neighborhood called Bungalow Heaven… not joking. 😂
