Podcast format / app for android

Morning folks

what format or app are folks using for listening to your podcasts on Android ??

i know apple has its on app...wondered if there was a generic android version ?

if using say Spotify ....do you have to have the full subscription / pay for version or does podcasts work on the free version ?

Hello mate I use YouTube podcast it used to be Google podcast but they updated it

I drive a lot and listen to podcasts all the time
and Oh my god every time i get a nice app set up they cancel it
Stitcher was nice and simple but it closed down
Google podcasts was fine but again it closed down
Spotify is awful and costs if you want to actually be able to use it
i tried a dozen others and all were annoying in some way or other


I now use Podcast addict - it does free and paid

the free version is fine - you can add podcasts and manage them and it works ok but you do hae adverts and there was some stuff you couldnt do which i wanted so i have now paid version (£10/yearch)

it isd the best I've found - very customisable, loads of options but also simple enough that i can just press play when i set off and it runs through my playlist without needing me to do anything
