Indeed, going through the HAD process shortly with the local police and been warned to not have anything anti islamic on my social media. There isn't but!

My intention with this comment is not to argue with you or criticise. If I’m honest, I would do exactly as you did and remove the photograph but we shouldn’t accept that it ‘doesn’t really affect’ us. It really does affect us when we accept that sort of demand so that we can keep shooting. Next time, they’ll be trying to charge you £1000 for renewal because they have to do the deep dive investigation into your social media. After that they’ll be looking for thought crimes.

I’ve never had one of these stupid requests yet but when I do, I hope I question it. Hopefully it’ll align with a time when I’m sick of shooting anyway and I can blame them for me giving up.

What I intended with "doesn't affect me" is that I post on social media infrequently and not to make any sort of living or whatever off the back of it. If I was running a large YouTube channel or relied on SM to drive traffic toward my site for sales (as is the case for my wife's business) I would very much be affected by such a request and would take a different view.

I understand where you're coming from though - acceding to a request that isn't strictly required could be considered the thin end of a wedge. On the other hand, we all do things every single day that the law doesn't require us to do, but we do just to make life a little easier for everyone around us. Holding doors open for people, waiting and then pulling forward at petrol stations to get the car behind in quicker etc etc. Not required, but certainly eases the path through life for everyone.
