Poor service and EU issue

Ordered an item from Krale (after selecting their U.K. web page) , 2 weeks later, no show, called parcelfarce and they said it’s with customs as it came from the NL but has been released, but that there is a charge to pay, 33% on top of the price paid.

I called Krale who said nothing we can do. I explained ok, understood that customs wasn’t their issue but that it wasn’t anywhere obvious that the item was coming from NL, they said it’s in the small print…I said ok, but it’s still significantly higher so wanted a refund, they said ok send it back, I said can’t do that as don’t have the item….

So basically I need to refuse to receive this, and will now be without the product and without my money for 5 weeks….absolute tripe and they need to be making this clearer on the so called U.K. website.

So just a word of warning if ordering through Krale…I’d recommend you don’t if in the U.K.!

Gixer

There web page is similar to many European retailers now.

There is a large banner at the top of the home page stating that a minimum order of £135 is needed to ship to the UK and any order over £135 won't have VAT added by them but will be added on delivery by UK HMRC.

I assume your order was for over £135 so no VAT added at the point of sale?

Krale will foot return cost and probably the attempted delivery costs, the small print may allow them to reclaim the retrun costs from gixer1 when they refund him. Just like online buying in the U.K.

It won’t! I am permitted to return any item without charge as per distance selling act….I won’t be paying a penny as far as I know…and to the first question - yes, it was over £135.

yes but distance selling regs allow for the buyer to pay the return delivery cost. Just had to pay to return some unwanted fishing equipment.

edit to add from memory unless the item is faulty or not as advertised.

keep your fingers crossed 😊

What are the costs of returning and exchanging?

If you’d like to return or exchange a product, you can go to our return portal and follow the steps given. You can then create a return ticket. The costs for this ticket will be displayed and can conveniently be paid for online in our portal.

I don’t think that will be relevant as I will be refusing to accept the parcel….so I will not have possession of the item…but it’s an interesting question!

Wonder what happens if you had taken delivery after paying the U.K. VAT and then return it, how would one ever get the VAT back? as the seller would only refund what you paid them.

interesting indeed .
