Possible a can of worms! Freyr & Devik

I have a dpt, and although it’s good, it’s not as good as my old atec that I had. I even added the stainless steel baffle plus an extra 2 ordinary baffles.
I have a new Atec Mega which failed on a 223. It also suffered from quite bad erosion as they are manufactured out of aluminium.

MAE are no longer available, apart from old stock in limited thread sizes and models.
Oh blimey that’s torn it
what has the company folded or not selling in the uk anymore

better see what I can get, I’ve got a couple of spare slots on my ticket

Thanks for the heads up appreciated

I spoke to Julian the importer and he explained that they had stopped responding to emails and he was not able to order any. It would appear that MAE are no longer trading which is a shame as they were great mods. Give Julian a call and see what he has left in stock.

Wildcat appear to be doing some new titanium mods that might also be worth a look - the full Ti one is reassuring expensive 😱
That’s still 40% heavier than my DPT (with additional stainless baffle) and three times the price. I would hope it is no louder than a mouse’s fart for that price but it still won’t silence the supersonic crack.

Thank you. Yep will do
I get all my mods from him, real shame about MAE

They’re brilliant if you don’t have to do too much walking. Perfect high seat or sit and wait mod.
Happily carried mine over some big hills for 8-10 hours at a time. If you can’t handle carrying the moderator you sure as hell don’t want to shoot the deer!

The other day I was listening to some guy talking about long distance trekking and his argument on weight was basically "if you've got to the point where you're comparing kit on comparatively small differences in grams, you're probably better off going to the gym" 😆

Always hard to compare apples with apples, but I think it's fair to say that, unless you stick something massive on the end, you'll probably not notice the difference...

Always been my approach too George. Don’t worry about ounces before you’ve sorted out stones! Never managed to get to the point I’d regard myself as sorted 😂

It’s not so much the raw weight, but the pressure it puts on your shoulder. I find a heavy mod really aggravates old damage in my shoulder.

I agree with the general point though! If a couple hundred grams is problem for a day on the hill, you have other issues to worry about!

I've got a dpt. I've had it a good few years now and no issues and I am pleased wigh it. I haven't used it professionally so it not had heavy use
