Potential new stalking show

it needs to be a cross between jack hargreaves and johnnie king, good clean honest passionate, but as i said before your doing a bloody good job of it allready, atb doug

Found this thread completely by accident and have now watched both films and have to say I enjoyed them both very much. Going to show my 14 yr old as well so he understands the thinking behind the stalking a little better.

Well done and keep up the good work.

I haven't been on the site for a while and am pleased to see this Charly - for me these films are capturing the essence of why I need to spend time in the woods, keep it up :thumb:

Forget the stalking boots, you could wear carpet slippers on your stalking ground, Lol. Great video, keep up the good work

Thanks for another beautifully filmed mini film. You capture the mood very well and it is great to see youngsters out in the field being shown the ropes. A couple of things that I reacted to, the first being that there was an extreme emphasis on explaining that this was culling to reduce damage potential from a large munty population. This got a bit tiresome I felt. The second thing that I queried, maybe it was just my 40+ eyes but the first muntie that was picked up appeared to be gralloched and with the head off......
Was it just me?

Hi Border,

Thanks for taking the time to provide constructive feedback, these kind of posts are key to our improvement of the films. I agree with you that the point was laboured somewhat, I will address this in the future. Your second point is also correct, the animal was gralloched and head removed in the field. Because we have a strong following by non stalking folk we are moderately censoring any footage that might unduly upset the younger or more sensitive viewer.

I really enjoyed the first two but found this one a bit "samey". I think the arty filming and melancholic music thing has been done now and the next one needs a really strong 'plot' as this one felt a bit 'aimless' (excuse the pun ;) )

Still good though and makes The Shooting Show look like a bunch of chavs ;) :D

Thanks Crosshair.243, any ideas for a plot? Up to now we have just been filming whatever I happened to be doing on the day, no scripting or staging.

I could add some colour!! :D

Good effort all round I've enjoyed them all so far. Not sure how you could add a plot though unless you had zombie deer coming out of the trees!! :scared:

I don't think it needs any scripting or staging. Or zombies.
But maybe some talking to camera whilst you do something to explain what's happening to the non-stalker. I.e, why have you chosen to wait in a particular spot, what happens after you take the shot (needn't be graphic), what are you looking for/at with the binocular, etc. Like a bit of self-narration to g alongside the quiet backing music rather than replace it. Just a thought.
