Powder prices

Isn't it nice to know someone is always watching over you and willing to bring to everybody's attention when they think you have broken the law when a PM would have been more appropriate just in case you have :D

So make one well meaning post, or potentially spend an evening sending PMs to each person who asks for an order..................I've always been amazed at the number of people who don't know the law, and as they say ignorance of the law is no excuse.

I apologise for caring and trying to give members a "heads up" as we say.

As PHAEDRA has noted, much of the 'US' powder is made in Australia, including my beloved XBR (8208). It is shipped only once or twice per year from US to GB, dangerous goods are lumped together for the journey for licensing reasons. There is nothing much you can do about it since the UK is an extremely small market for firearms, ammunition and ammunition components. To put it in perspective there are single outlet (non-franchise) shops in Arizona and Queensland who sell more Berger and Sierra bullets and powder brands than the entire UK in a year.

Beware cheap prices from distance sellers as invariably SOME retailers are not letting the courier companies know it is dangerous goods cargo. A good way to catch the eye of legislators once again for the wrong reasons - self police and although its hard not to be cost driven, we all know roughly how much we should be paying.

I would definitely urge handloaders to try RS powders. I do know the distributor well, and he ALWAYS has stock in ALL lines having never run out. If your 'local dealer' says otherwise he is fibbing. Many have just given up stocking.

One thing for people to consider is that Vectan have had their powders classified as HD 1.4C. Which will be Greek to many, but what it does mean that the cost of transportation is greatly reduced as the Dangerous Goods requirements are a lot less. I believe that Vit are trying to go through the same process. The only difference is the type of plastic used in the container. If taken up by all it should greatly increase the availability of powder due to reduced shipping costs.

Just got a 1kg for a pal, n165 @ £82:50 feck its going mad and was told H4350 is just one of the powders that will not be held by the importer due to the bolx re USA/ OZ powders they have it on back order but feel there is no point in chasing it due to the import bull crap yet again ?? , So its varget time all over again :stir: no dow't we will see powder for sale at £100 a tub on the site again soon  , so its time to search for a swiss powder to take its place
