Pressure washing deer skulls.

I know of a few blokes that simmer deer skulls then pressure wash for good results but I would like to know if a decent PW will clean up old skulls that were skinned then just hung from the shed rafters...resulting as dry as a witches tit...will a PW remove gristle /selvedge etc to bare bone?

I think you'd have to soak them for a while first.

As vss above. Soak, then practice on some disposable ones first. There's a bit of a knack to it. Brains and snotty bits get everywhere.

I think you'd have to soak them for a while first.

soak? I read nappi san..for soaking nappies/diapers but you cant trust everything online.

I have done a few over the years, sika & reds, that have been hanging around in hedges/outbuildings. Flies and nature have done their part.
As VSS mentioned, soaking first is important to loosen dried on material. I've simply soaked in plain water.
With the smaller deer species I always found the dried out skulls too thin and fragile to withstand the power-washer. My understanding, JG, is your skulls are from bigger beasts, so, ought to be OK. They will never, though, be as clean as 'freshly prepared' skulls.

Yes bigger stags with a fair few fallow bucks I will give it a try I have about 50 to do but I will admit that I get bored very quickly lol.
