i posted a few months ago about a problem i was having with my gwp bitch retrieving foxes. http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/showthread.php?17557-Gwp-for-fox/page3
i thought this followup post may be better in this section as it is not deer dog related etc. Basically to summarise, the bitch will be 3 yrs in november, she is working well on rabbits and feather and we regulary shoot rabbits on a golf course so she gets plenty of work. She wouldnt show any interest in a dead fox, but after finding her first deer in january she eagerly lifted a dog fox the next time i shot one and i thought we had cracked it. I laid off the foxes while the cubs were below ground and when i resumed shooting foxes she has gone back to showing absolutley no interest in dead foxes or severly wounded foxes.
I would welcome ideas on trying to get her switched onto foxes etc as it makes up about 60% of the shooting i do.
